  • WTM Career in Travel

    WTM Career in Travel is our exclusive student programme designed to increase student opportunities within the travel and tourism industry.

    Whether you’re studying travel and tourism or hospitality, or even if you’re a business student looking to branch out, Career in Travel will uncover the possibilities that the travel industry brings.

    Students are invited to get involved with WTM by joining us on the Tuesday or the Wednesday of the show. Across the two days, students will have the chance to gain a greater understanding of the travel industry through our Events Programme showcasing valuable content with guest speakers and travel industry leaders.

  • On the Wednesday of WTM London, Career in Travel will host the premier student travel and tourism conference – ITT Future You; returning for its 9th successive year and organised by the Institute of Travel and Tourism, this event is not to be missed.

    Here, you will have the chance to listen to key travel speakers and hear their stories about building a career in the travel industry plus, gain expert and tailored career advice from prospective employers or you can find out about graduate opportunities and potential career paths by talking to a range of travel businesses in attendance. Participating companies will be announced closer to the show.

    Register to come along and discover the world under one roof; be inspired by travel industry leaders, prospective employers and current innovations within the industry.

    Register your students

    The ITT Future You is the premier student travel conference – not to be missed if you are studying travel and tourism related subjects. The conference will be held on Wednesday 08 November 2017 from 14:00 – 16:00 in Platinum Suite 3&4. Students must be registered for the Wednesday if they want to attend the conference – entrance will be offered on a first come first serve basis as spaces at the conference are limited. Tutors must register students in advance to avoid disappointment.

  • Jamie-Lee Abtar, Be Distinctly Different

    Jamie-Lee Abtar is the founder of Be Distinctly Different, a marketing and PR agency that works with travel brands to help them to grow, develop and make more money. Growing up in Barbados, Jamie-Lee’s passion for the travel industry came with her first job welcoming guests to her Island. This natural talent for marketing was honed when Jamie-Lee undertook a MSc Tourism Management and Marketing at Bournemouth University and with senior post graduate roles with destinations and tourism boards. Jamie-Lee is one of TTG’s 30 under 30 future travel leaders for 2016/17.

  • Julia Lo Bue-Said, Advantage Travel

    Julia became Managing Director of the Advantage Travel Centres group in July 2013, with responsibility for running the business on a day-to-day basis as well as developing the strategy and vision for the company. Having worked her way up to her current position, Julia has been at Advantage for 21 years. She’s been an ITT board director since 2011 and in 2012 she was inducted into the Women’s 1st Top 100 Club for Travel and Hospitality.

  • Gemma Jones, TrekAmerica

    Gemma’s love for travel started when she took a gap year after uni to travel the world. While travelling she knew there was no other industry she wanted to work in, and on her return started working as a travel consultant. Her passion for marketing has led her to where she is today – Marketing Manager for TrekAmerica, a small group tour operator for young travellers who want to experience the Americas. She loves spending her days talking, thinking and writing about travel, and is always planning her next adventure!

  • Will Jones, gapyear.com

    After a year blogging his way through Australia, Southeast Asia and India, Will broke into the travel industry in 2011 as a writer. He worked his way up and is now the Managing Editor of gapyear.com, a website aimed at young people who want to get out and explore the world. He still loves to travel and spends far more than he can afford on it, but truly believes it’s the best thing money can buy. Well, that and beer.
