Airlines, agencies, hotels, airports, and the wider value chain are facing big challenges and opportunities, ranging from dealing with the doubling of demand in travel, shift towards personalization of offers and fulfillment, to operational efficiency. Data plays a key role in dealing with these challenges and opportunities, both from the aspect of a data sharing ecosystem that fosters disintermediation and puts the control with data publishers and consumers, as well as data science and advanced analytics (e.g. ML) capabilities to leverage data in areas such as commercial planning, operations, and disruption management.
