Summary

Experienced and entrepreneurial CEO with extensive M&A experience and a demonstrable history of growing value in Private Equity backed travel businesses.

Profile

Craig has 18 years’ experience in the travel sector, nine of these spent as CEO of winter-sports and activities operator, Ski Solutions, now part of the Active Travel Group. Craig has led two PE backed management buyouts, the first of which was backed by Stone Venture Partners in 2010 to acquire the business from the original founder. Having then acquired niche activities operators, Bspoke and Cycling for Softies, this was followed in August 2017 by a £6.3m secondary MBO backed by Mobeus Equity Partners to support further growth and revenue diversification, both organically and through further M&A within the activity and adventure travel sector.

More recently, Craig and the team secured £3m of follow-on funding from Mobeus in September 2018 to facilitate the buyout of Highlands-based adventure operator Wilderness Scotland and Wilderness Ireland. Craig heads up the Active Travel Group with combined (pre-Covid) revenue of £32m, bringing together a team of 80 outdoors and mountain travel professionals looking after over 23,000 customers across its five brands.
